Our Philosophy
At CapitaLegal, we have adopted a number of principles which we consider lead our clients to the best legal outcomes.
You deserve premium legal advice: At CapitaLegal, we believe all parties involved in a business or investment transaction deserve the benefits and protection flowing from professional legal advice given by an experienced advisor.
Getting to know you: We believe that your legal advisor should be someone who has a thorough understanding of your business and the objectives you wish to achieve through your transaction, and who takes the time to develop not only this understanding, but a personal rapport with you. We believe this is achieved by open communication between the client and advisor, which is not stifled by concerns about the number of six-minute intervals involved in getting to the heart of the matter.
Your success is our success: We are innately aware that the success of our business is largely dependent upon our clients’ successes – so we are as interested as you are in ensuring the best possible outcome in your matter. We want you to be so pleased with the progress of your matter that you will return to us again and again as your business grows and prospers.
We won’t drown you in detail: In all transactions in which we are involved, we seek to understand and review them from all possible legal angles and we may refer to multiple sources of statute, case law and regulation in doing so. But we aim to ensure that the advice you receive is commercially appropriate, digestible and has a close regard to your objectives – so that you can then use the advice in making your business decisions.
Your recommendation is our highest accolade: We want to do such a good job for you that you will recommend us to your friends, colleagues and clients.
Our History
CapitaLegal was established as an incorporated legal practice in May 2011, as a provider of premium legal services to SMEs, entrepreneurs and start-up businesses in Australia, particularly those involved in raising or managing capital for business, transactional or investment purposes.
Our People
Sarah is the principal and founder of CapitaLegal.
She has over 25 years’ experience in legal and management positions both in Australia and internationally. She has worked in general counsel roles in several Australian financial services and fund management entities. Sarah has substantial experience in providing legal advice on major financing and capital raising transactions, the establishment of investment vehicles, corporate acquisitions and takeovers, and transaction and corporate structuring. Sarah has also been responsible for managing the highly successful corporate and trust services subsidiary of a major international law firm.
Because the vast majority of her experience has been gained in the corporate sector, Sarah takes a highly commercial approach to provision of legal advice. She focuses on providing her clients with excellent service coupled with an outcomes-oriented approach.
